What reaches us
Two things. If you write to us through the contact form, we receive the address you send from and whatever you put in the message. Separately, an analytics script records the visit itself — which pages were opened, roughly which country the request came from, the device and the browser.
No account, no profile, no newsletter list.
What we do with it
Messages are read and answered, and that is the end of them. Analytics figures are only ever looked at in aggregate — which guides get read, which ones nobody finds — so that the site can be improved. Nothing about you is sold, rented or traded.
Who else is involved
Google Analytics measures traffic and may set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. Affiliate links hand you to a booking platform — GetYourGuide, in almost every case here — and from that click onwards you are their visitor, under their policy, not ours. Embedded YouTube players and maps behave the same way.

What you can ask for
Block or delete cookies in your browser at any time, and use Google's own opt-out add-on to disappear from our analytics entirely. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, write through the contact page.
