About Wine Tasting Firenze

An independent comparison of wine tasting in Florence and the wine tours that leave it for Chianti, San Gimignano and the Val d'Orcia. We compare tour listings, official visitor information and recent traveller feedback. We do not operate or personally conduct these tours. The listings sit on the wine tasting comparison, and every figure on this site carries the month it was last read.

Why this site exists

Search for a wine tasting in Florence and almost every result sells the same thing: a day trip. The pages differ in wording, not in answer. Meanwhile the most-read result on that search is a traveller explaining that they have no day to give the countryside and would like a good glass inside the city — and getting a list of wine bars from strangers, because nobody had written it down properly.

So the job here is the comparison nobody publishes. What a tasting removes from your day, in hours. How many glasses are actually poured, and whether food means a meal or a slice of salami. Which trips include lunch and which quietly do not. What Riserva means against Gran Selezione, so the flight in front of you is legible. None of it is secret — it is in the operators' own listings, in the consortium's published disciplinare and in the wine-window association's census. Putting it beside the price is the whole point.

Where the facts come from

Prices, durations, ratings, review counts, inclusions, meeting points and age limits are read off each operator's live listing on the date shown, in US dollars, and every listing carries the same fields in the same order. Tour listings checked: August 2026.

Chianti Classico's ageing and blend rules come from the Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico's published parameters. The wine-window figures and the list of hatches still serving come from the Associazione Buchette del Vino's own census, not from press coverage, which has repeated three different numbers for years. Temperatures are the 1991–2020 normals for Florence Airport. Enoteca addresses are quoted from the Florence guides that publish them and are worth confirming before a long walk — opening days move.

Traveller feedback reviewed: 20,000+ reviews across the listings compared here. Quotes are short excerpts from verified bookings, with the month attached.

What we do not do

We are not a winery, an operator or an agency, and nothing is sold here. We take no payment, hold no booking and cannot change, refund or rearrange one — the platform named on your confirmation does all of that.

We also do not publish a tasting we would not send a friend to. Every listing compared here is rated 4.5 or better with a real review count behind it; where a listing has few reviews, the number is printed rather than smoothed over.

How the site earns

Through affiliate commissions paid by the booking platform when someone books after clicking through. The price you pay is the same either way. The order of the listings, the ratings shown and the tour named as our pick are decided before any commission is considered, and the reason for the pick is printed beside it so you can disagree with it.

The affiliate disclosure has the detail.

Corrections

A price that has moved, a cellar that has changed its closing day, a meeting point that has shifted: tell us on the contact page and it gets fixed. Corrections with a date or a link are the most useful thing anyone sends us.
